Eve Frontier Free Trial Announcement

Starting Friday, April 11, gamers will have the opportunity to experience a 10-day free trial of Eve Frontier, an Ethereum-based massively multiplayer online (MMO) space survival adventure. This open trial will last until April 21, allowing participants to delve into the vast universe of Eve Frontier, where they can build and command spacecraft while navigating a perilous environment that CCP Games CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson describes as a world that is relentlessly hostile to players.

Trial Phase and Gameplay Features

This trial period also marks the onset of the game’s third phase—a 60-day cycle that usually introduces new gameplay elements and economic features. Previously, in December, CCP Games initiated closed alpha testing for Eve Frontier through the sale of Founders Access passes, available in three tiers priced between $30 and $90. These passes offer unique advantages, such as an “always-on” server, along with subscription time that is applied post-launch. However, participants in the free trial will not benefit from any of the Founders Access exclusives or customizations.

Company Development and Financial Insights

In a move to enhance its space-based gaming universe, CCP Games successfully raised $40 million in 2023, focusing on expanding their iconic title, Eve Online, through blockchain technology. To oversee these developments, the company recently appointed a former economist from the Central Bank of Iceland as the Head of Economy in an effort to refine a player-driven financial system ahead of the game’s full release.

About Eve Frontier

Eve Frontier is built on the Redstone network, a layer-2 Ethereum platform designed specifically for autonomous gaming worlds. It aims to establish a multi-token ecosystem, which will include the EVE token as a utility currency within this digital environment. Originally launched in 2003, Eve Online has held its ground as one of the most challenging MMORPGs available, known for its intricate lore, dedicated in-game organizations called corporations, and a celebrated annual fan festival in Iceland.
