This week, a federal judge rejected amicus curiae briefs submitted on behalf of Samourai Wallet by two prominent crypto advocacy organizations. This decision has prompted these organizations to call for the dismissal of legal proceedings against the Bitcoin mixing service, which is accused of operating as an unlicensed money transmitter.
Advocacy Organizations’ Involvement
The Blockchain Association, Coin Center, the DeFi Education Fund, and the Bitcoin Policy Institute collectively argued that Samourai Wallet has facilitated online financial transactions in compliance with U.S. law.
