Authorities in Indiana have successfully located and retrieved 1,000 Bitcoin mining machines that were taken from a hijacked cargo shipment in a semi-trailer in Grant County earlier this month. The mining rigs, valued at approximately $700,000, were owned by Your Choice Best Ever, a crypto mining enterprise operating within the state. The company had reported the loss on October 2, but it has not yet provided any insight regarding a possible link to the stolen turkeys when approached for comment by Decrypt.

In a statement shared via Facebook, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office detailed how detectives traced the stolen cargo to the Chicago region, culminating in the recovery of the mining equipment last week. Although no arrests have been made so far, investigators are currently dealing with “international criminal participants.”
This unusual combination of stolen mining rigs and turkeys garnered attention, with social media users humorously commenting on the oddity of the situation, making puns about the authorities “gobbling up the charges” and jokingly suggesting the turkeys could be used to cool the high-performance servers.
