Richard Teng, the CEO of Binance, has recently addressed a growing concern among cryptocurrency users regarding the prevalence of phishing scams. In a message shared on the platform X, he highlighted the various deceptive strategies adopted by cybercriminals targeting individuals’ crypto accounts.
Increasing Sophistication of Scammers
Teng explained that many scammers are now increasingly sophisticated, crafting fraudulent links that mimic legitimate websites. When users inadvertently click on these links, they risk being redirected to harmful sites designed to capture their login credentials and sensitive personal data.
Additionally, he pointed out that some attackers are assuming the identities of reputable figures or customer service representatives from Binance or even himself, in order to build trust and persuade victims to provide personal information that could ultimately lead to financial losses.

He emphasized Binance’s commitment to safeguarding user assets, reiterating that their security team operates around the clock to protect clients. However, he stressed that user awareness remains crucial in combating these threats, stating,
