Excitement in the Bitcoin Community
The excitement within the Bitcoin community is palpable following Apple’s announcement of the iPhone 17 Pro series, which introduces a novel color option: a vibrant ‘cosmic orange’. This shade has gained notable traction in 2025 among fashion icons and cultural influencers, making Apple’s choice seem both strategic and timely.
Bitcoin Orange
The Coinbase exchange officially reported on its X account that Apple has unveiled a model in what many refer to as “Bitcoin orange”. This hue has historical significance within the cryptocurrency sphere, originating from the color selection of Bitcoin’s early logo. A member of the community expressed their delight, sharing on social media,
“Apple really announced an iPhone in Bitcoin orange. Nice.”
New iPhone Models
In addition to the eye-catching orange, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models will also feature a deep blue and a silver finish. Interestingly, Apple has chosen not to offer these new models in black—a decision that surprised many fans who anticipated this classic color option based on earlier leaks. In contrast, Apple’s ultra-slim iPhone 17 Air will indeed be available in black, along with a light blue and beige variant.
Historical Value Comparison
On a historical note, the value of iPhones when measured against Bitcoin has seen a drastic shift over the years. Back in 2011, purchasing an iPhone 4S would cost approximately 162.25 BTC, which at today’s market values equates to an astonishing $18.1 million. To put this into perspective, a used iPhone 4S can now be found for around $30 on eBay. The trend continues with the iPhone 5S, which in 2013 had a price tag of 5.05 BTC. However, as Bitcoin gained traction and value soared, the cost for newer models has plummeted, with the latest iPhone 17 currently priced at just 0.007 BTC.
