Bybit’s PAWS Token Airdrop Update
Bybit, the cryptocurrency exchange, has announced a significant reversal regarding its recent PAWS token airdrop that occurred on April 15. The initial distribution was marred by errors, resulting in an inconsistency where some users received surplus tokens, while others were left empty-handed. This mishap has sparked notable frustration among users, many of whom expressed their discontent on social media platforms such as X.
Reissue of PAWS Tokens
In a blog post released on Wednesday, Bybit confirmed that it will reissue PAWS tokens following a newly amended eligibility list provided by the PAWS project team. This list aims to include participants who were inadvertently left out of the original distribution. However, the exact number of affected individuals has not been disclosed.
Additionally, users from the European Economic Area are reminded that they remain excluded from this distribution due to compliance issues surrounding MiCA regulatory requirements.
Exchange’s Response
Despite the exchange’s apology to those impacted by the error, it remains vague regarding whether any reparations will be given for the distribution mishap. The exchange promised that the redistribution would take place prior to the official listing of the token on the market.

For context, PAWS is a memecoin launched on the Solana platform. It initially emerged as a mini-application within Telegram, rewarding users with “PAWS points” for engaging with community channels and inviting friends. However, due to new restrictions implemented by Telegram that favored the TON network, the PAWS project shifted to Solana, seeking a more conducive environment for development.
