Bybit at Regulation Day 2025

Bybit, a notable cryptocurrency exchange, took part in Regulation Day 2025, a significant event focused on the oversight of digital assets, held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This event was part of Devconnect ARG, branded as the inaugural Ethereum World’s Fair and organized by Crecimiento. During the conference, which showcased over 75 projects across 40 different events, about 1,500 participants were present, including government officials, lawmakers, and private sector leaders addressing crucial topics in the realm of virtual assets and artificial intelligence.

Key Discussions on Digital Asset Regulations

Key figures from Bybit, including Patricio Mesri, the CEO of Bybit LATAM, and Mykolas Majauskas, Senior Director of Policy at Bybit, engaged in discussions surrounding digital asset regulations. In a panel moderated by Milagros Santamaria from Crecimiento, Majauskas emphasized the importance of regulation that safeguards users while fostering innovation in the sector.

“In Latin America, crypto serves as an indispensable tool for everyday life, not just a theoretical concept,” he asserted, highlighting Argentina’s proactive stance on aligning its approach with global standards to cater to local circumstances.

Argentina’s Economic Reforms and Cryptocurrency

Recent policy initiatives in 2025 categorize cryptocurrencies as digital assets, part of Argentina’s larger economic reforms. From 2024 to mid-2025, the country processed an impressive $93.9 billion in cryptocurrency transactions, making it the second-highest in Latin America, following Brazil.

“Crypto here is forged around inclusion rather than exclusivity; many individuals are transitioning from speculation to utilizing stablecoins for their everyday needs,” Mesri articulated.

He further remarked on the transformative impact digital assets have on the lives of people in Argentina, asserting that they offer more accessible financial solutions and enhance overall financial inclusion in the region. Furthermore, he stressed that effective regulatory frameworks inspire confidence among both consumers and businesses engaging with digital assets, a key driver for mainstream acceptance.

The Future of Regulation in Argentina

Regulation Day has cemented its status as a vital platform for discussing technology policy in Argentina, aiming to cultivate a productive conversation between governmental bodies and a growing tech industry about regulatory strategies for emerging technologies. In a related development, the U.S. Senate Banking Committee is preparing for a vote in December on comprehensive measures for reforming the cryptocurrency market framework, underscoring that the global conversation on crypto regulation is heating up.
