Bybit Restores Services in India
In a significant boost for the cryptocurrency landscape in India, Bybit has announced the full restoration of its services in the nation, coinciding with new regulatory approvals and a series of initiatives aimed at fostering growth and innovation in the digital asset sector. The crypto exchange revealed on September 8 that users in India can now enjoy complete access to its mobile app on both the Apple App Store and Google Play, with plans for a gradual reinstatement of its website over the coming days.
Regulatory Compliance and User Trust
This move is part of Bybit’s broader strategy to ensure regulatory compliance and enhance trust among its growing user base in India. The company had previously registered with the Financial Intelligence Unit-India (FIU-IND) in January, aligning itself with the country’s regulatory frameworks under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Currently, Indian traders will be able to utilize Bybit’s comprehensive range of services, which includes options for spot trading, derivatives, and copy trading. Initially, limited access was granted back in February to verified users, but this full functionality required lengthy discussions with local regulatory authorities to ensure compliance.
Future Ambitions and Community Engagement
Vikas Gupta, the country manager for Bybit in India, has highlighted that the company’s ambitions go beyond mere trading. Bybit intends to focus on educational initiatives, community engagement, and strategic partnerships that will strengthen the digital asset ecosystem in the region.
Ben Zhou, Bybit’s co-founder and CEO, emphasized the importance of this development, stating, “India represents one of the most promising arenas for digital assets worldwide. We are thrilled to resume operations and committed to providing our Indian users with secure, transparent, and superior cryptocurrency experiences. This marks not just a return, but a transformative new chapter for Bybit in India.”
Market Presence and Upcoming Events
Further enhancing its market presence, Bybit has taken on sponsorship of the India Blockchain Tour 2025, which commenced in Hyderabad and is set to continue to New Delhi later this month. Additionally, the company is hosting the World Series of Trading 2025, aiming to attract new traders through enticing prizes, including cars and iPhones, thus solidifying its stake in India’s rapidly evolving cryptocurrency market.
