Coinbase Launches XRP Futures Contracts
On April 21, Coinbase announced the introduction of futures contracts for the XRP cryptocurrency on its US derivatives exchange. The trading of these contracts falls under the supervision of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
According to a statement from the company posted on the X platform, these contracts provide a regulated and efficient means for investors to engage with one of the most liquid digital assets in the market.
Details of the XRP Futures Contracts
The newly available XRP futures include standard contracts that correspond to 10,000 XRP as well as smaller, retail-focused contracts — known as “nano” contracts — representing 500 XRP, which equates to around $1,000 based on the price on April 21.
