Everstake’s Ethereum Staking Audit
On April 9, 2025, in Miami, FL, Trail of Bits conducted an in-depth audit on the Ethereum staking protocol operated by Everstake, scrutinizing critical components such as authentication processes, access controls, and the overall security of transactions. Although the audit highlighted several areas needing enhancement, Everstake has taken significant steps to rectify these issues, notably improving its documentation.
Innovative Staking Accessibility
Everstake has gained recognition for its innovative approach to staking, which traditionally necessitates a minimum investment of 32 ETH. By reducing the entry point to just 0.1 ETH, the company has made staking more accessible for a broader audience. Security is paramount for Everstake, particularly given its integration with Wallet SDK, an open-source toolkit that simplifies the staking process for various wallets. Major players in the industry, including Trezor, utilize this technology to ensure their users enjoy a secure and streamlined staking experience.
Mat?j Žák, the CEO of Trezor, emphasized the importance of security in staking, stating, “Partnering with Everstake allows us to offer our users reward opportunities while upholding stringent security measures. The recent audit by Trail of Bits affirmed that Everstake’s infrastructure adheres to high-security standards, reinforcing our efforts to make staking secure and user-friendly within the Trezor Suite.”
Bohdan Opryshko, co-founder and COO of Everstake, remarked on the importance of both security measures and user accessibility in staking. He stated, “We appreciate the independent audit from Trail of Bits, as it signifies our commitment to maintaining a secure platform. Collaborating across the industry is essential to foster a safer Web3, and we take pride in contributing to enhanced standards within the staking arena.”
