Recent Insights on Ethereum Enhancements

Recent insights from cryptocurrency researcher known as Fede’s Intern suggest that Ethereum (ETH) may be on the verge of significant enhancements. Key improvements under discussion include a major reduction in transaction latency by up to 50% through Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 7782, aimed at revising how bandwidth is utilized and ultimately refining user interactions with the platform.

Fede’s Intern, while sharing these details on X, reiterated the importance of catering to the user base and highlighted the need for EIP-7928, which focuses on enabling parallel disk reads and enhancing transaction validation processes.

Details of EIP-7782

The official documentation for EIP-7782 outlines that these adjustments will harmonize bandwidth management while maintaining the current block and blob sizes, paving the way for improved interactions between Layer 1 and Layer 2, minimizing miner extractable value (MEV), and achieving rapid finality in transactions. This proposal is currently classified as a “Draft” on the Standard Track by Ethereum veterans Ben Adams and Dankrad Feist.

Discussion on EIP-7928 and EIP-7732

Adding to this, Fede’s Intern also discussed EIP-7928, which was introduced in March 2025, describing it as a means to optimize disk access and transaction validation on Ethereum. Conversely, EIP-7732, which aims to implement a Proposer-Builder Separation, may introduce unnecessary complications to the protocol and is proposed for later research. This particular improvement seeks to distinguish execution validation from consensus validation.

Upcoming Fork: Glamsterdam

These significant EIPs are expected to be part of the upcoming Gloas-Amsterdam fork, informally referred to as Glamsterdam. This update aims to build upon the achievements of previous forks like Prague-Electra (Pectra) and the anticipated Fulu-Osaka (Fusaka) update set to launch in late 2025. Glamsterdam is expected to introduce new opcodes and reassess the gas models for various functions, with activation projected for 2026.
