Cardsmiths Launches Currency Series 5
In a groundbreaking move, Cardsmiths has unveiled its latest endeavor in the trading card market with the launch of the Currency Series 5 set, which includes five exclusive cards—each redeemable for an entire Bitcoin, currently valued at over $100,000. This newest collection, now available for purchase on the company’s website and through select retailers, marks an unprecedented expansion in the realm of crypto-linked trading cards.
CEO Insights and Pricing
CEO Steven Loney shared insights into the surge in interest surrounding this series, noting,
“The demand for Currency Series 5 has surpassed anything we’ve experienced previously. The engagement from collectors is deeper and broader than past Currency series.”
The pricing for Currency Series 5 is consumer-friendly, starting at just $37 for a box containing two packs, with each pack consisting of five cards. Notably, collectors have about a 1 in 96 chance of discovering a card that can be redeemed for cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, or Dogecoin.
Unique Collectibles and Artistic Collaboration
In addition to the redeemable cards, the series also introduces a unique non-redeemable Bitcoin trading card, distinguished as a “One of One”, emphasizing its collectible value. Cardsmiths collaborated with artists like Gunship Revolution Studios and Jon McTavish to ensure that the artistic flair of these cards is equally compelling. Loney remarked,
“Our aspiration from the outset has been to create genuinely unique cards with each Currency launch, making Bitcoin a fitting focal point given its prominence as the leading cryptocurrency.”
Collector Success Stories
Over the past year, collectors have been able to turn relatively modest investments in Cardsmiths’ products into substantial profits. For instance, a holder of a Bitcoin redemption card from a $50 pack of the Holiday Currency series previously realized profits exceeding six figures. Similarly, an individual shopping at GameStop discovered a Bitcoin card worth approximately $115,000 from a $13 pack, highlighting the potential rewards tied to these offers.
Future Plans
Currently, Currency Series 5 is still in stock on Cardsmiths’ official website. The brand has also partnered with BitPay to enable transactions using various cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and Dogecoin.
Looking ahead, Cardsmiths is committed to expanding its Currency series, with plans for forthcoming sets already in motion. Loney added,
“Our Currency series is central to our identity, and we’re excited about the new releases we have lined up, including Currency Series 6,”
hinting at more innovation in the pipeline for crypto enthusiasts and collectors alike.
