Recent analysis from SoSoValue reveals that as of June 23, 2025, a notable $198 million worth of Bitcoin was acquired by publicly traded companies worldwide, not including those involved in mining activities. This marks a continued trend of institutional investment in cryptocurrency.
Major Corporate Investors
Among the most significant investors:
- Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) has notably expanded its inventory for the eleventh consecutive week, investing $26 million last week alone to acquire an additional 245 BTC. Their total holding now stands at 592,345 BTC, purchased at an average cost of $105,856 each.
- Metaplanet, a Japanese publicly traded firm, made headlines with a substantial investment of $118 million last week, acquiring 1,111 BTC at an average price of $106,408. This latest purchase brings its total Bitcoin holdings to 11,111 BTC.
- Four other companies collectively invested roughly $53.82 million in Bitcoin, including:
- Prenetics, a US-based medical company, purchased 187.4 BTC for $20 million at a price of $106,712.
- The Blockchain Group from France spent $19.6 million for 182 BTC, raising their total to 1,653 BTC at an investment of $107,484 per coin.
- UK firm The Smarter Web acquired 104.3 BTC for $10.89 million, establishing their holdings at 346.6 BTC.
- Japanese apparel company ANAP added 31.2 BTC with a $3.33 million investment, increasing its total to 184.7 BTC.

These recent investments come from companies across several nations—France, the United Kingdom, Japan, and the United States—indicating a growing trend of non-traditional corporations incorporating Bitcoin into their financial strategies. The movement toward Bitcoin as a strategic reserve is increasingly diverse both in terms of industry and global reach.
Furthermore, SoSoValue’s statistics indicate that the number of non-mining listed companies holding more than 100 BTC has increased to 21. These companies collectively possess 655,520 BTC, valued at around $66.3 billion, which constitutes about 3.3% of Bitcoin’s total market capitalization.
