Increased Interest in XRP
Interest in XRP has notably increased on the social media platform X, as highlighted by Vet, a validator for the XRP Ledger, in a recent post. This uptick coincides with insights from Nikita Bier, X’s Head of Product and advisor to Solana, who illustrated through a chart that XRP was one of the most frequently searched cashtags, alongside top cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. The renewed focus on XRP comes amid significant developments within the XRP Ledger ecosystem and Ripple itself.
Regulatory Milestones Achieved
In just under a week, Ripple achieved two crucial regulatory milestones. Most recently, they announced they received preliminary approval for their Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license from the Luxembourg Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF). This follows last week’s announcement of receiving an EMI license and Cryptoasset Registration from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
XRP Community Night Event
In addition to these regulatory achievements, RippleX also revealed plans for an XRP Community Night event in Denver, intended to bring together local users and developers focusing on the XRP ecosystem. Scheduled for February 18 from 7 to 10 p.m. MST, the event will take place during ETH Denver.
Upcoming Amendments to the XRP Ledger
Separately, RippleX confirmed that the version 3.0.0 amendments for the XRP Ledger have been initiated for mainnet adoption in the coming weeks. XRPL node operators and validators are being urged to upgrade their systems to avoid being blocked from these amendments. The Permissioned Domains amendment, which is nearing activation levels, is supported by Ripple and will facilitate the development of permissioned flow capabilities for financial institutions on the XRP Ledger.
