Max Keiser’s Whimsical Speculation on Satoshi Nakamoto
Max Keiser, an outspoken proponent of Bitcoin and advisor to the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, recently shared a whimsical tweet speculating about the potential whereabouts of Satoshi Nakamoto, the enigmatic creator of Bitcoin.
Imagining Satoshi’s Location
In his tweet, Keiser likened Satoshi to iconic figures from fantasy, posting an image of a wizard surfing on high waves, reminiscent of Gandalf from J.R.R. Tolkien’s works. He whimsically suggested that instead of residing at the North Pole like Santa Claus, Satoshi should be found in what he termed “Bitcoin country”—a nod to El Salvador’s adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender. Keiser confidently asserted,
Satoshi lives in El Salvador, BITCOIN COUNTRY.
The Mystery of the Missing Statue
This playful assertion follows recent news about a statue of Satoshi that was installed in Lugano, Switzerland, last year and had come up missing. The life-sized effigy, which was a collaborative project involving Tether and PlanB, stirred interest among cryptocurrency enthusiasts.
Adam Back, an early Bitcoin supporter whose work on Hashcash was referenced by Satoshi in the Bitcoin whitepaper, commented humorously on the disappearance, noting that Satoshi had seemingly vanished again. Fortunately, the statue was later recovered from a river close to its original location, further adding to the mystique surrounding the figure of Satoshi Nakamoto and the ongoing evolution of Bitcoin in the global financial landscape.
