NHL Partners with Ndax for 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs
In a landmark move, the National Hockey League (NHL) has announced its inaugural collaboration with a cryptocurrency platform by naming Ndax as the Official Crypto Exchange Partner for the upcoming 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. This partnership signifies Ndax’s first venture into the realm of professional sports sponsorship and is expected to enhance the visibility of cryptocurrency through one of Canada’s most widely followed sporting events.
Brand Visibility and Marketing Initiatives
During the playoffs, fans will notice Ndax’s branding prominently displayed across various platforms, including in-arena logos, digital rink board advertisements, and strategic placements during broadcasts of all Canadian playoff matches. According to Ndax CEO Bilal Hammoud, the integration is designed to immerse the Ndax brand within the playoff environment, increasing awareness and promoting cryptocurrency adoption in Canada.
“We want fans to view Ndax as their trusted entry point into the world of digital currencies,”
Hammoud stated.
Furthermore, the NHL will utilize its innovative Digital Enhanced Dasherboards (DED), which allow for localized advertising, to cater messaging to Canadian audiences. This system grants Ndax a unique opportunity to reach viewers during national broadcasts, enhancing their promotional reach.
Statements from NHL Executives
Max Paulsen, NHL’s Vice President of Business Development, noted the importance of Ndax’s well-established credibility in the crypto sector, reflecting on years of discussions that led to this partnership.
“We’re excited about their leadership and are committed to growing together,”
he said.
Engagement Campaigns and Educational Initiatives
In conjunction with this partnership, Ndax is launching the “Ndax ICE” campaign, aimed specifically at engaging fans throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Users will have the opportunity to participate in weekly giveaways and competitions, with prizes including crypto credits redeemable via Ndax and a grand prize of tickets to the coveted 2025 Stanley Cup Final.
To further assist new users, Ndax is introducing the Ndax Lighthouse—an educational hub that provides hockey fans with clear explanations, tutorials, and glossaries to ease their entry into the cryptocurrency landscape, according to Hammoud. The aim is to attract and educate up to 100,000 new users, especially targeting the younger Gen Z and Millennial demographics.
Ndax’s Growth and Strategic Positioning
This announcement comes amidst Ndax’s significant growth. Recently, the platform achieved approval as an Investment Dealer and Marketplace across all Canadian provinces and was recognized as a member of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization. As of March 2025, Ndax reported an impressive trading volume exceeding $17.5 billion and management of $1 billion in assets, in addition to maintaining one of Canada’s largest public Bitcoin reserves. The strategic partnership with the NHL is part of Ndax’s broader strategy to cement its position as a leader in the rapidly evolving cryptocurrency industry.
