Public Companies Invest $863 Million in Bitcoin; Strategy Continues Bullish Streak and GameStop Boosts Funding with $450 Million in New Convertible Bonds

Global Investment in Bitcoin

As of June 30, 2025, Eastern Time, global publicly traded companies have collectively invested a significant $863 million into Bitcoin, according to data from SoSoValue, excluding investments from mining firms.

Notable Investments

Notably, Strategy, previously known as MicroStrategy, has maintained a consistent buying pattern for 13 weeks in a row, acquiring an impressive $531.9 million worth of Bitcoin last week alone. This latest purchase involved an impressive 4,980 BTC at an average price of $106,801, thereby raising its total holdings to 597,325 BTC.

Meanwhile, Japan’s Metaplanet made headlines with two transactions last week, totaling $240.8 million and adding 2,239 BTC to its reserves at a cost of $107,561 each, now holding a total of 13,350 BTC.

Other Corporate Acquisitions

The trend of increasing acquisitions in a single week is evident, with several other corporations joining in. Nano Lab, a hardware producer from China, contributed $63.6 million to amass 600 BTC at $106,000, bringing its holdings to a total of 1,000 BTC.

The British digital advertising firm, The Smarter Web, also participated by investing approximately $20.4 million to secure an additional 196.9 BTC at $103,606, resulting in total holdings of 730.16 BTC.

Additionally, Blockchain Group from France allocated $6.3 million to purchase 60 BTC at a price of $105,877, raising its total to 1,788 BTC.

GameStop’s Funding and Strategy

In a separate development, GameStop disclosed on June 25 that it had successfully raised $450 million through a new offering of zero-interest convertible preferred shares, augmenting its previously completed $2.25 billion private placement of convertible bonds from June 17. With this latest funding, GameStop has now accumulated a total of $2.7 billion, intended for general corporate purposes and strategic investments, including allocating Bitcoin as a reserve asset in alignment with its investment strategy.

Current Bitcoin Holdings

Currently, the aggregated total of Bitcoin held by these publicly traded entities (excluding mining companies) stands at 663,860 BTC, valued at roughly $71.5 billion. This figure represents approximately 3.34% of Bitcoin’s overall market valuation.
