Samson Mow’s Call to Action
Samson Mow, the outspoken CEO of JAN3 and a staunch advocate of Bitcoin, is rallying the cryptocurrency community to participate in a petition aimed at restoring the damaged Satoshi statue located in Lugano, Switzerland. This call to action has been launched on Change.org, with Mow seeking to achieve an initial goal of 1,000 signatures by the end of the day. Currently, the petition has received 775 endorsements, and Mow anxiously awaits confirmation that the milestone has been reached.
Incentives for Participation
To incentivize participation, Mow has offered supporters of the petition access to a Dolphin Card, a product from his Bitcoin-centric enterprise. He encourages those who sign the petition to share a screenshot in the comments section, promising a quicker approval for the Dolphin Card as a reward.
The Vandalism Incident
The petition arose following the unfortunate incident where the Satoshi statue, unveiled at the Bitcoin Plan B Forum in 2024, was vandalized and subsequently found submerged in Lake Ceresio. The statue, created by artist Valentina Picozzi and gifted to Lugano, had originally been showcased at Villa Ciani before being relocated to the Foce area.
Community Response
In response to the vandalism, local residents have initiated a public petition requesting the city’s assistance in restoring the artwork, which Picozzi has generously offered to recreate at no cost. The artist, along with her Satoshigallery collective, insists that the replacement statue be installed in a secure location to prevent any future acts of vandalism.
