Shiba Inu Team Issues Scam Alert
The Shiba Inu team has raised an alarm regarding a wave of scams targeting LEASH and other tokens within the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Through a tweet from a community-focused account named Susbarium, users are cautioned against imitative migration websites and fraudulent messages related to LEASH and its associated tokens. A specific fraudulent site under scrutiny has been promoting a fake LEASH migration initiative.
Community Safety Warning
“SHIBARMY SAFETY ALERT: Beware of messages and sites masquerading as legitimate, particularly those linked to $LEASH and other Shiba Inu assets. The site depicted in the shared image has been verified as a scam.”
LEASH Supply Changes and Migration
On August 11, 2025, it was reported that the supply of LEASH increased by 10%, contradicting prior beliefs about a fixed supply and the disabling of rebasing. After thorough discussions among developers and the community, a decision was made to introduce LEASH v2. This will be based on a new contract that has passed audits, with the project’s final design awaiting approval from the Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO).
Ensuring a Safe Migration Process
Currently, the Shiba Inu development team is focused on ensuring a transparent and reliable migration process to LEASH v2, emphasizing their commitment to safeguarding token holders during this transition. In this regard, they warn against misleading Telegram messages that advertise “LEASH V2 Migration”, indicating that these could be phishing attempts designed to hijack user funds.
Community Vigilance Against Scammers
Susbarium’s alerts extend to warn about organized scammers who manipulate networks of counterfeit accounts that target unsuspecting investors. The team encourages the community to avoid clicking on random links and to remain cautious of their digital interactions. Furthermore, they clarify that there exists no official LEASH token on the Solana blockchain and confirm that any claims of migration to Solana are false. Only tokens listed on the official SHIB website are genuine; anything else should be regarded with skepticism.
