Shytoshi Kusama Addresses Community Concerns
In a recent communication, Shytoshi Kusama, the prominent ambassador for the Shiba Inu project, has addressed growing concerns regarding his potential departure from the initiative. This tweet marks his first engagement since August 5, when he discussed plans for an election aimed at appointing new leadership roles and councils for each Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) as the Shiba Inu community celebrated its fifth anniversary. However, this announcement was met with resistance from some community members, igniting discussions around governance.
Flash Loan Attack on Shibarium
Over the past weekend, the security firm Peckshield brought to light a flash loan attack on Shibarium, prompting a response from the Shiba Inu community and tagging Kusama in a related post. The attack involved borrowing 4.6 million BONE tokens to seize control of the validator keys. While many were eager for Kusama to comment, it was Kaal Dhairya, another developer of Shiba Inu, who promptly addressed the situation.
Dhairya detailed precautionary measures that were implemented to avert what could have been a more significant breach, reassuring the community. According to updates from the official Shiba Inu account, the attack ultimately led to the loss of 224.57 ETH and 92.6 billion SHIB tokens, with the attacker attempting to liquidate nearly $700,000 worth of KNINE. Fortunately, this attempt failed when the K9finance DAO multisig blacklisted the offending address. Other tokens, including LEASH, ROAR, TREAT, BAD, and SHIFU did not experience the same impact.
Kusama’s Commitment to the Shiba Inu Ecosystem
In his recent post, Kusama not only clarified rumors about his commitment but also reiterated his dedication to enhancing the Shiba Inu ecosystem through artificial intelligence initiatives, alongside progressing SHIB and its related tokens. He emphasized that while his attention has partially shifted towards these AI projects, he remains closely involved with the development team to outline future strategies for the community.
“We are actively addressing the situation, so to speak, from our ‘war room'”
Kusama mentioned, promising that further announcements will be made via official SHIB channels soon.
