Tigran Gambaryan Departs Binance
Tigran Gambaryan, who served as the head of financial crime compliance at Binance, is parting ways with the cryptocurrency exchange following a tumultuous legal battle in Nigeria that gained global media coverage.
Legal Challenges and Departure
After eight months of legal turmoil and detention over alleged charges of money laundering, the former IRS agent confirmed that his last working day at Binance is this Friday. Gambaryan was taken into custody last year while on a business trip to Nigeria, where the complaints against him stemmed from allegations regarding illicit financial activities.
“My time at Binance has been impactful, but the challenges in Nigeria have been difficult to navigate.”
With his departure, Binance faces new uncertainties as it continues to adapt to the evolving landscape of cryptocurrency regulation.
