Warning Against Fraudulent Token Migration Schemes

Members of the Shiba Inu community have been cautioned against a wave of fraudulent token migration schemes that are tricking users. Notably, Mazrael, a prominent figure in the Shiba Inu ecosystem and advisor for the Shiba Eternity game, took to social media to expose these scams. In a post on X, he highlighted that an account named ‘someonesmart’ has been actively disseminating deceptive migration information via Telegram channels.

Details of the Scam

According to Mazrael, the scammer associated with this account has shared links to a Telegram group promoting the false migration claims within the Bone ShibaSwap and Shibarium Telegram communities.

“Someonesmart has infiltrated our channels, spreading misinformation and has even muted our official members and banned developers in the Telegram group,”

he remarked, underlining the fraudulent nature of the claims being made.

“These scammers have no affiliation with either ShibaSwap or Shibarium.”

Advice for Shiba Inu Users

Mazrael advises Shiba Inu users to stick to verified tokens within the ecosystem such as SHIB, BONE, LEASH, and TREAT while exclusively utilizing official communication channels to avoid falling victim to these scams. He reiterated,

“There is currently no migration happening. If you wish to stake your BONE on Shibarium or utilize your authentic tokens on ShibaSwap, only real tokens should be used.”

Staying Vigilant

Stakers of BONE should remain vigilant and refrain from exchanging their holdings for any supposed substitute tokens suggested by these scammers. Likewise, users of ShibaSwap need to be especially careful not to approve unknown contracts or transfer assets to unverified addresses.

Future LEASH v2 Migration Speculation

In a related development, there is speculation about a future LEASH v2 migration due to a previously identified flaw in the original LEASH contract that jeopardized its fixed supply mechanism. The initial LEASH contract inadvertently included a rebase feature that could modify its supply under specific circumstances, despite the developers asserting that they had burned the keys.

Post-resolution, the developers have assured the community that the new contract will not allow minting of additional tokens, and the complete supply of LEASH v2 has already been allocated to a multisignature wallet. With the migration process still pending, the tokens from the original version are expected to be either locked or burned, while the new tokens will be distributed from the multisig based on the proportion each holder is entitled to. However, details regarding the commencement of this process have yet to be announced.
