Coinbase Derivatives Maintenance Announcement

Coinbase Derivatives, the regulated futures trading platform under the Coinbase umbrella, is scheduled to halt all trading activities this weekend for essential maintenance. According to an announcement made via Coinbase Markets’ official X account, this maintenance will commence on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 5:00 AM Central Time and is expected to last approximately nine hours.

Impact on Trading Activities

During this timeframe, users will not be able to engage in futures and perpetual futures trading on Coinbase Financial Markets. Nonetheless, access to user accounts will remain uninterrupted, allowing clients to log in and manage their accounts even though trading functionalities will be temporarily disabled. Customers are advised to prepare accordingly for this period of inactivity, as the platform has indicated that updates will be available on their status page.

Upcoming Cryptocurrency Changes

In other updates related to trading on Coinbase, it was noted that users holding the cryptocurrency Blast (BLAST) should transfer their assets prior to the network’s impending shutdown on October 26, 2026. This comes on the heels of the recent announcement regarding the suspension of trading for Neon EVM (NEON) and Syndicate (SYND) effective November 16, 2026, at 2 PM Eastern Time. Trading for these cryptocurrencies will be suspended across multiple Coinbase platforms, including Coinbase Simple and Advanced Trade, Coinbase Exchange, and Coinbase Prime.

Additionally, the platform will cease trading for Balancer (BAL) and Tensor (TNSR) on November 9, 2026, as well as for Stargate Finance (STG) and Vulcan Forged (PYR) on November 6, 2026, both at 2 PM ET.

New Market Launches

On a positive note, in early October, Coinbase launched six new equity perpetual futures markets — CRWV, ORCL, SOXS, DELL, PLTR, and SNXX — in collaboration with Deribit. Furthermore, new perpetual futures markets for PONS and CASHCAT have been made available for retail traders and institutional clients within select jurisdictions. The platform has also introduced additional listings, including PONS (PONS), Data (DATA), and Whuffie (WHUF), further expanding its offerings for users who buy, sell, convert, send, receive, or store these assets.
