Upbit Expands Offerings with OriginTrail (TRAC) Listing
On May 18, the South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Upbit expanded its offerings by listing OriginTrail (TRAC), allowing users to trade the digital asset across three markets: KRW, BTC, and USDT. Following the announcement, deposit activities commenced roughly 90 minutes later, and trading officially began at 4 PM local time. Upbit implemented specific listing controls on the day of the launch to ensure a stable trading environment.
Trading Controls and Market Response
During the initial five minutes after trading opened, Upbit temporarily blocked buy orders and restricted sell orders for those priced more than 10% below the last closing price reported by CoinMarketCap. For the first two hours of trading, the platform permitted only limit orders to be placed.
As a result of Upbit’s announcement, TRAC experienced a significant price surge, with CoinGecko reporting an increase of 39.4% in a 24-hour period, bringing the trading price to $0.4607. The trading activity showed a dramatic fluctuation in price, with a recorded range between $0.3228 and $0.6028, and total trading volume reaching approximately $38.65 million.
