Ripple’s Upcoming Meeting at the White House
A recent report from Semafor reveals that Ripple, a leading enterprise blockchain firm, is set to participate in a significant meeting at the White House next Wednesday. This event will also attract prominent figures from the cryptocurrency industry, including Coinbase, a16z, Chainlink, and Paradigm. High-ranking officials such as U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Paul Atkins and Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chair Michael Selig are expected to be present, highlighting the meeting’s importance within governmental discussions on crypto and prediction markets.
Ripple’s Previous Engagements with the White House
This isn’t Ripple’s first interaction with the White House; CEO Brad Garlinghouse previously attended the inaugural Digital Assets Summit in early 2025, which was organized by the Biden administration. At that summit, Garlinghouse joined a select group of cryptocurrency leaders, including Coinbase’s Brian Armstrong and Robinhood’s Vlad Tenev.
Additionally, Ripple was involved in another notable White House event in July, marking their presence during the signing of the GENIUS Act, which centers on stablecoins. Earlier this year, they also participated in a key summit concerning digital assets.
Challenges and Legislative Focus
Despite their active involvement, Ripple’s lobbying efforts caused a temporary conflict in 2022 when it was reported that lobbyist Ballard Partners did not adhere to necessary access protocols. Nevertheless, this incident did not lead to Ripple’s permanent exclusion from the White House discussions.
Furthermore, the administration’s CLARITY Act, which aims to establish clearer regulations around cryptocurrencies, remains a focal point of discussion, particularly as Senate Majority Leader John Thune has rescheduled a critical procedural vote for September 15. White House crypto advisor Patrick Witt has actively engaged in negotiations to push the bill forward, even in the face of mounting challenges from Republican senators.
