BitGo Launches Compliance Service
In the face of looming regulatory deadlines, BitGo has launched a new compliance service aimed at assisting cryptocurrency firms struggling to secure authorization under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework.
Current Landscape of Cryptocurrency Firms in Europe
Prior to the upcoming requirement set to take effect on July 1, 2026, there were over 3,000 cryptocurrency companies registered across Europe, as reported by the law firm Hogan Lovells. However, by May 2026, only 194 of these firms had successfully received the necessary approval to operate as Crypto Asset Service Providers (CASPs), raising concerns about the ability of many businesses to continue their operations legally.
