CertiK Strengthens Partnerships in the UAE Amid Ongoing Digital Asset Security Threats
CertiK is bolstering partnerships in the UAE to address crypto security risks, reporting $8.02M in losses from recent incidents.

CertiK's Expansion in the UAE
In response to escalating security challenges within the digital asset space, CertiK, a prominent blockchain security firm, is amplifying its efforts in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Recent research from CertiK revealed that 2026 witnessed around $8.02 million in confirmed losses resulting from four distinct security breaches associated with UAE-based entities. The study highlighted five separate incidents, tracing back to organizations registered or operating in the UAE; while loss amounts have been explicitly recorded in four cases, the fifth case's details remain unclear, indicating potential gaps in incident documentation and reporting accuracy.
Collaborations and Initiatives
CertiK is fostering a range of collaborations in the region, notably with organizations like Hub71 in Abu Dhabi and Gate Dubai. This expansion includes the establishment of a local team focused on engineering and business growth in Dubai. The firm’s primary objective is to enhance the security, compliance, and operational robustness of digital asset enterprises, facilitating their evolution as the UAE strengthens its foothold in the financial technology landscape.
As part of its collaboration with Hub71, CertiK has initiated a program offering startups within the Abu Dhabi Global Market reduced fees for security services and complimentary access to CertiK Compliance. This initiative aims to assist companies in meeting licensing standards and diligently managing ongoing compliance needs.
Furthermore, CertiK's partnership with Gate Dubai centers on enhancing reserve transparency. In an important development earlier in 2026, CertiK validated the reserves of the VARA-licensed exchange through an independent Proof of Reserves verification, confirming adequate coverage across ten digital assets as of December 31, 2025.
Addressing Institutional Hesitance
These partnerships resonate within the broader context of institutions evaluating the necessary safeguards to underpin digital asset offerings. At the recent Dubai FinTech Summit 2026, CertiK hosted a session titled "The Trillion-Dollar Trust Gap: Why Institutional Finance Still Hesitates on Digital Assets," where they discussed the various hurdles that hinder wider institutional acceptance of digital currencies.
Jason Jiang, Chief Business Officer at CertiK, acknowledged the progress made by financial institutions in integrating digital assets but emphasized that regulatory approval is merely the initial phase. He stressed the necessity for ongoing security measures and risk management as operations scale up. CertiK's amplified presence in the UAE underscores its commitment to enhancing trust and effectively managing risks in the digital asset domain, with research highlighting the deficiencies of solely relying on publicly available reports to gauge the region's security landscape.
