Boyaa Interactive Expands Cryptocurrency Portfolio
Boyaa Interactive International Limited has recently expanded its cryptocurrency portfolio by acquiring around 205 Bitcoin, amounting to an investment of approximately $14.3 million. As a result, the gaming company’s total Bitcoin holdings now stand at approximately 4,316 BTC.
Details of the Acquisition
The acquisition was officially reported in an announcement on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on September 4, detailing that the purchases were executed through a series of open-market transactions conducted over the period from June 24 to September 4. The funding for this investment was sourced from the company’s spare cash reserves, reportedly amounting to HK$110 million (around $14.3 million).
The average purchase cost for the newly acquired Bitcoin is reported to be about $68,280 per BTC, and the transactions were conducted on licensed trading platforms that follow regulatory guidelines. Notably, this transaction did not fall under the shareholder approval previously granted at the company’s annual general meeting on June 18 for a distinct major Bitcoin transaction. Since the purchase exceeded 5% in applicable percentage ratios yet remained below 25%, it was categorized as a discloseable transaction in accordance with Hong Kong’s listing laws.
Strategic Shift Towards Web3 Gaming
Boyaa Interactive’s strategy to accumulate Bitcoin aligns with its transition into Web3-focused gaming and associated infrastructure. Earlier this year, there were reports of the company seeking shareholder consent for a broader crypto expansion valued at $70 million, which included plans to acquire both Bitcoin and Ether over the following year.
This follows an earlier major expansion in August 2025, when Boyaa had procured approximately 290 BTC for $32.9 million, which brought its total possessions at that time to 3,670 BTC, achieved at an average cost of $62,878 per Bitcoin. Both the recent and aforementioned investments were funded from internal resources and were completed through platforms operating under regulatory oversight.
Significant Past Transactions
During this timeframe, the company noted a 12% increase in Bitcoin holdings relative to its shares, reaching roughly 0.0516 BTC per 10,000 shares.
Boyaa’s Bitcoin acquisition has been significant, especially since its major pivot in November 2024 when it exchanged about 14,200 ETH, valued at roughly $49.48 million, for approximately 515 BTC. This strategic move elevated Boyaa’s status, briefly making it the largest publicly listed corporate holder of Bitcoin in Asia until being surpassed by Metaplanet in March 2025.
Integration of Digital Currencies
Beyond merely holding Bitcoin, Boyaa is actively incorporating digital currencies into its gameplay and blockchain infrastructure. Recently, the company allocated 1,000 BTC for staking on Boyaa Network, a public blockchain aimed at supporting Web3 gaming, which utilizes a Proof of Stake mechanism launched in Q2 of this year. This strategic use of Bitcoin is intended to bolster network security and ensure operational reliability.
Furthermore, Boyaa has earmarked another 1,000 BTC for staking on the MTT Network, which operates with technology from the Cosmos SDK and powers the MTT Sports gaming platform. As part of its expansion into the crypto space, Boyaa also aims to enhance MTT Sports’ crypto payment installation, allowing users to buy MTT tokens through conventional payment systems like Visa and Mastercard.
Future Developments
The company is also developing YAAKO Wallet, a dedicated gaming crypto wallet, which has been allocated 500 BTC intended for liquidity within cross-chain bridge applications. An additional allocation of 500 BTC is planned for further liquidity support by 2027. Boyaa’s forthcoming pet-themed Web3 social game, Pet Land, is set for launch in 2026, with Bitcoin anticipated to be included as rewards and for network staking.
Overall, Boyaa has committed an estimated 2,600 BTC already deployed and has announced plans for an additional 1,700 to 1,900 BTC to support its ongoing and upcoming projects within the sector. Since embarking on its Web3 strategy in 2023, the company has maintained its traditional gaming operations, which continue to generate revenue, funding its cryptocurrency and blockchain initiatives.
Boyaa Interactive emphasizes rigorous security measures for its Bitcoin holdings, utilizing institutional-grade custodians and advanced storage technologies to safeguard its assets.
